May 2026 Summer Necessities Event

Windy City Cares is excited to announce our May 2026 Summer Necessities Event, where we’ll come together to support Chicago’s most vulnerable neighbors. On Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, we will be packing hundreds of summer care kits filled with hydration items, food, and other essential supplies to help individuals stay safe and nourished during the warmer months
As temperatures rise, access to basic summer necessities becomes increasingly important for those facing hardship. These care kits are designed to provide relief, comfort, and dignity to community members who need it most, and every item packed represents a meaningful act of kindness.
We are currently seeking volunteers to help make this event a success. If you’re interested in lending a hand, please contact volunteer@windycitycares.org to register. Your time and support can make a real difference in someone’s summer.

We need volunteers to lend a hand with organizing and packaging up winter essentials to be distributed to our community members in need. Annual December Volunteer Event
Our Annual December Volunteer Event on December 9–10, 2025, was an incredible success! Dozens of dedicated volunteers came together to organize and package winter essentials for community members in need. Their hard work and generosity ensured that support reached those who need it most during the cold season. We are deeply grateful to everyone who gave their time and energy to make such a meaningful impact.
Fashion for Compassion
In recognition of World Homeless Day, a two-day jewelry and designer purse trunk show was hosted with all proceeds benefitting Windy City Cares.
The show featured Andie K Wearable Art and Julie Feldman Designs.
Gratitude In Motion - Kickin’ It For Charity
Outdoor fun in support of g2 programs? Join Windy City Cares at Gratitude In Motion for a Kickball Tournament and Service Fest.
Towel Donation Event
In partnership with Bank of America and Gratitude Generation, we collected and arranged towels for distribution to our neighbors in need. We thank Bank of America and Gratitude Generation of their help and support of our mission.
Christmas in July
At our Christmas in July FUNraiser, we honored Andie Kramer for her 30+ years of service to the organization and to Chicagoans in times of need! The event was fun for the whole family, with winter-themed activities for all ages.
